Full-time North Carolina public school teachers may be eligible to receive a waiver of the tuition difference between out-of-state and in-state tuition for courses relevant to teacher licensure or professional development as a teacher. See http://www.uncc.edu/gradmiss/gs_residency.html

So that instruction time is not disrupted, course instructors expect and assume that students have completed the Distance Education Orientation, and have gotten Centra and Blackboard questions answered, prior to the beginning of the semester.
