1. Tuition

Distance Education Tuition and Fees are calculated on a per-credit-hour basis. There is NO cap at a certain number of hours on the amount that is charged. Students who take a combination of on-campus and distance education courses should be aware that the charges for them are separate and distinct and cannot be “rolled together”.

Students registered for 100% Online Course/s in Summer 2008 (click here to verify that a non-distance education program course qualifies) should note that their Student Account records will reflect charges for both on-campus and online courses but the tuition and fee rates differ. Please check Tuition and Fee rates for on-campus charges and click on the link below for current distance education/online summer course rates (rates may or may not apply to fall and spring online courses).

Tuition and fees for Distance Education courses are set by the North Carolina General Assembly and are subject to change before the beginning of each academic year (begins with the fall semester). For this reason, UNC Charlotte Distance Education is unable to provide final tuition and fee rates beyond the current academic year.

3. Refund Policy

Student bills are calculated by Financial Services. To view the current refund policy click here. Students may or may not receive paper bills; however, charges are always available to students by logging into 49er Express and clicking on Banner Self Service.

Non-attendance and non-payment will not result in the automatic cancellation of all stated responsibilities. Students must officially drop or withdraw. A drop or withdrawal is subject to the information outlined in the University Academic Calendar.
